Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Peacekeeper Discord bot (the "Bot"), the Peacekeeper web panel and website (the "Panel"), the public appeal system, and any related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by its developer ("we", "us", "the operator"). By adding the Bot to a Discord server, signing in to the Panel, submitting an appeal or beta request, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms on your own behalf and, where you add the Bot to a server, on behalf of that server.

1. Eligibility

• You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement in your country (13 or older in most regions) to use the Service.
• You must have a Discord account in good standing and comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times while using the Service.
• To add the Bot to a server or manage a server through the Panel, you must hold the required Discord permissions (Manage Server or Administrator) on that server, granted legitimately by its owner.

2. The Service and beta status

• The Service provides Discord server management tooling: automatic moderation, moderation case tracking, ban appeals, cross-server ban enforcement, leveling, tickets, announcements, and related features.
• The Service is currently in open beta. Features may be modified, suspended, or revoked at any time, with or without notice, as the Service continues to develop.
• Features may be added, changed, broken, or removed at any time. Beta software may contain bugs; do not rely on it as your only moderation or record-keeping system.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will NOT:

• Use the Service to violate Discord's Terms, any applicable law, or the rights of any person;
• Use moderation, enforcement, or registry features to harass, defame, or target individuals or communities, or to enforce bans based on protected characteristics;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' sessions, or data belonging to servers you do not manage;
• Probe, scan, overload, flood, or otherwise attack the Service or its API, or circumvent rate limits, authentication, or beta restrictions;
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service or its data without written permission;
• Submit false, fraudulent, or spam appeals, reports, or beta requests, or impersonate another person in any submission;
• Use the Service to store or distribute unlawful content of any kind.

4. Server managers' responsibilities

• Server owners and managers are solely responsible for how they configure and use the Service on their servers, including AutoMod rules, honeypot channels, automated punishments, and enforcement settings, and for the consequences of those configurations.
• You are responsible for informing your members, where required, that moderation and management data is processed by the Bot.
• Panel access follows your Discord permissions. You are responsible for the security of your Discord account and for all actions taken through your Panel session.
• If you enable cross-server features (Shared Ban Registry, network enforcement, channel links), you understand that limited data (such as user IDs and ban reasons) is shared with the other participating servers.

5. Moderation outcomes and appeals

• Moderation decisions on individual servers (warnings, timeouts, kicks, bans) are made by that server's staff, not by us. We provide the tooling; we do not review or endorse individual moderation decisions.
• The appeal system transmits your appeal to the relevant server's staff (for server appeals) or to the developer team (for global registry appeals). Submitting an appeal does not guarantee any outcome, a response, or a timeframe for review.
• Abusive, threatening, or repeated duplicate appeals may be dismissed without review and may result in loss of access to the appeal system.

6. Intellectual property

• The Service, including its code, design, name, and logo, is the property of its developer. These Terms grant you no ownership rights.
• You retain ownership of content you submit (appeal text, configuration text, embed content). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content as necessary to operate the Service.

7. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate access to the Service — for a user, a server, or entirely — at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms, abuse of the Service, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the beta.
• You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the Bot from your server and no longer signing in to the Panel. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to data after removal.
• Sections 6, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST, OR THAT AUTOMATED MODERATION WILL CATCH OR CORRECTLY CLASSIFY ANY PARTICULAR CONTENT. AUTOMATED SYSTEMS (INCLUDING AUTOMOD, BOT DETECTION, AND HONEYPOTS) CAN PRODUCE FALSE POSITIVES; SERVER STAFF ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING THEIR EFFECTS.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED FIFTY US DOLLARS (US $50) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your server's configuration of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any third party's rights.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced in the support Discord and/or via the Bot's update channels. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and remove the Bot.

12. General

• These Terms are the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
• If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
• Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
• You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
• The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Peacekeeper Service collects, why, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run the features a server enables — nothing is collected for advertising, profiling, or resale.

1. Data we collect and why

1.1 When you sign in to the Panel (Discord OAuth)

• Discord user ID, username, and avatar — to identify your session and display who you are.
• The list of servers you are in and your permissions (via the guilds OAuth scope) — used only to determine which servers you may manage in the Panel. We do not store your full server list permanently; the manageable subset is kept in your signed session.
• We never see your Discord password, email (unless you provide it in a form), payment details, or private messages.

1.2 When the Bot operates in a server

• Server configuration — every setting the server's staff configures (channels, roles, thresholds, messages, templates).
• Moderation records — case entries (user ID, moderator ID, action, reason, timestamps), infraction points, nickname locks, and Shared Ban Registry entries, so staff have a reliable history.
• Feature data — only for features a server enables: XP totals and voice-minutes for leveling; suggestion, poll, and giveaway records; ticket metadata and transcripts to the extent the ticket feature stores them; birthday dates members voluntarily register; invite counts; starboard message references; scheduled announcement content.
• Message content — the Bot processes message content in real time to run features like AutoMod, honeypots, sticky messages, and leveling, but does not build a message archive. Content is stored only where a feature inherently requires it (e.g. the text of a moderation reason, a starboarded message, a confession, a suggestion, or a scheduled announcement).
• Age verification (approved servers only) — where enabled, verification decisions and their audit entries are stored. See section 4 for special handling.

1.3 When you use the public forms

• Appeals — your Discord user ID, the server involved, your appeal text, and the contact information you provide. Shared with the reviewing staff (server staff for server appeals; the developer team for global appeals).
• Beta requests — the server name/ID, your contact information, and your description, visible to the developer team.

1.4 Technical data

• IP addresses are processed transiently in memory for rate limiting and abuse prevention. They are not written to the application database or linked to your profile.
• Panel audit log — every management action performed through the Panel records the acting user's ID/username, the action, the target, and a timestamp, so server staff and the developer can review changes.
• Local storage — the Panel stores your session token and interface preferences in your browser's localStorage. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics trackers, fingerprinting, or advertising pixels.

2. How data is used

• To operate the features servers enable — nothing more.
• To secure the Service: authentication, permission checks, rate limiting, and abuse prevention (including the Global Ban Registry, which exists to protect participating communities from repeat bad actors).
• To respond to appeals, beta requests, and support inquiries you send us.
• We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models.

3. Sharing

• Within Discord — the Bot posts what staff configure it to post (logs, announcements, embeds) into the server's own channels.
• Cross-server features — if a server opts in to network enforcement or the Shared Ban Registry, ban records (user ID, reason, source server) are visible to and enforceable by other participating servers. Channel links mirror the messages sent in the linked channels between the linked servers.
• Service providers — Discord (authentication and all bot functionality) and, where a server enables a specific integration, the third party that powers it (e.g. Reddit for feeds). Only the minimum data needed is exchanged.
• Legal — we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of users, particularly minors.

4. Sensitive data

Age verification is restricted to individually approved servers. Verification decisions are logged for audit purposes; any material submitted for verification is processed only to make the decision and is not retained longer than necessary for that purpose. Birthday data is voluntary, provided by the member, and removable on request. We do not intentionally collect any other special-category data, and no feature requires it.

5. Retention

• Server data — retained while the Bot is in the server. If the Bot is removed, server configuration and feature data are purged after a grace period of up to 30 days (kept in case the removal was accidental).
• Moderation and registry records — may be retained longer than other data where reasonably necessary for cross-server abuse prevention, up to the life of the enforcement network.
• Appeals — retained while under review and for a reasonable period afterwards for audit purposes.
• Panel sessions — expire automatically; signing out invalidates the session server-side.
• Audit logs — retained for the life of the server's participation in the Service.

6. Security

• All Panel and API traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
• Sessions are cryptographically signed; one-time tokens used during sign-in expire within minutes and are stripped from the URL immediately.
• Access is permission-scoped: Panel users only see servers where Discord grants them Manage Server or Administrator. Developer functions require separate developer credentials.
• The API is rate-limited per user, per IP, and per server, and every management action is audit-logged.
• No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify affected communities without undue delay.

7. Your rights and choices

• Access / deletion — you may request a copy or deletion of data we hold about you (as an individual user) or about your server (as its owner). Some moderation and registry records may be retained where we have a legitimate interest in abuse prevention; we will tell you if that applies.
• Server owners — removing the Bot triggers automatic purging as described in section 5; you can also request immediate deletion.
• Members — data held about you within a server (cases, XP, etc.) is controlled jointly with that server's staff; you can also contact us directly.
• EU/UK (GDPR) users — where GDPR applies, our lawful bases are legitimate interests (running and securing community-management tooling) and consent (for optional submissions like birthdays and appeals). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
• California (CCPA/CPRA) users — we do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA. You have the rights to know, delete, and correct.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age Discord requires in your region), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn we hold data on an underage user, we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The effective date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be announced in the support Discord. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Contact

For privacy questions, data requests, or anything else in this document, contact the developer through the support Discord or via the contact details provided in the Bot's profile. We aim to respond to data requests within 30 days.
